War on Drugs: Is it real?

Recently, the Philippines spoke out in outrage over the execution-style killing of grade 11 student Kian Loyd Delos Santos by Caloocan cops.

Kian is the latest casualty in the duterte regime’s brutal campaign against illegal drugs. The police Claim that the victim fought back, however, CCTV footage of the incident told an entirely different tale.

The West Philippines Sea Dispute

China and Southest Asian countries have made progress in talks on a code of conduct for the disputed South China Sea. On February 1, Chinese naval vessels entered the Ph waters amid efforts by the Philippines peacefully resolve its territorial dispute with china in the West Philippine Sea through arbitration in the United Nations.

A chinese Flag has been mounted on a sand cay located seven nautical miles off Kota Island in the West Philippine Sea. The Philippines has protedted Chinese incursions into waters within its exclusive economic zone, but china insists those waters are part of its territory.

Life vs. Life

After convincing the people about the outreach, Vice President Leni Robredo wants to revise the anti-illegal drug stategy.

The war on drugs started when Rodrigo Duterte became the President, but the Project Tokhang may be an effective way, but it killed many innocent.

Due to lack of process, many had been killed, caught in the act and even died in innocence, that's how our War on Drugs goes on.

Last election, Rodrigo Duterte became the president of the Philippines with the promise of Six month war-on-drugs being always emphasized on his speeches.

Peace Instead of Fear

It’s been a year since President Rodrigo Duterte took office and promised to eradicate the country’s drug problem. The number of cases related to the administration’s War on Drugs is continuously rising and here we are, turning a blind eye on what should have been a law- observing Philippines.

Despite the alarming death toll during the first quarter, his ratings did not waver. Instead, majority of the Filipinos still support his campaign against illegal drugs.

Just recently, seventeen- year old Kian delos Santos died in a police operation related to the country’s War on Drugs in an alley in Caloocan City. His death outraged the public.

Kian is just one of the thousands of victims of alleged extrajudicial killings carried out by the administration. It is sad that it had to take the life of an innocent student to serve as a wakeup call for most Filipinos to see that our country’s drug war is not leading to peace.
